Website not loading or showing errors

Clear your browser cache and cookies first. Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete in Chrome or Firefox, select 'All time' and check boxes for cached images and cookies. If the OTTO homepage still won't load, try switching browsers. Sometimes Chrome works when Firefox doesn't, or vice versa. Check if your antivirus or firewall isn't blocking the connection. Add otto.de to trusted sites in your security software settings.

Can't log into account
  • Double-check your email and password. Copy-paste credentials to avoid typos
  • Use the 'Forgot password' link if you're unsure about your login details
  • Disable browser extensions temporarily, especially ad blockers and privacy tools
  • Try incognito or private browsing mode
  • Clear site data specifically for otto.de in browser settings
Payment keeps failing at checkout

Your bank might be declining the transaction. Call them to confirm international payments are enabled. Try a different payment method if available. Check that your card details are entered correctly, including the CVV code and expiration date. Some banks require 3D Secure verification, so make sure pop-ups aren't blocked. Wait 30 minutes and retry if you see a temporary error message.

App crashes or freezes constantly

Update the OTTO app to the latest version from App Store or Google Play. Outdated versions have bugs that cause crashes. If updating doesn't help, uninstall completely and reinstall fresh. Clear the app cache in your phone settings before reinstalling. Make sure your phone operating system is updated too. Free up storage space if your device is nearly full, as apps need room to function properly.

Search results won't display

This usually happens when filters get stuck. Reset all search filters and try again. Refresh the page or restart the app. Check your internet connection speed, slow networks cause search timeouts. Try searching with simpler keywords instead of long phrases. If search works on mobile but not desktop, or opposite, the issue is device-specific, so follow browser troubleshooting steps above.
