Proximus App Won't Open or Crashes

Force-close the MyProximus app and relaunch it. If it keeps crashing, clear the app cache through your phone settings, then restart the device. An outdated version is often the cause — check the app store for pending updates. If nothing helps, uninstall and reinstall the app entirely.

Can't Log Into Your Account

Wrong credentials are the obvious first suspect, but the issue is often a session timeout or a corrupted browser cookie. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try logging in again. If you use autofill, the saved password may be outdated — type it manually. For persistent login failures, use the password reset flow via your registered email.

Mobile Internet Stops Working
  • Check that mobile data is enabled and you haven't hit your monthly data cap — this is visible in the app under your plan details
  • Toggle airplane mode on and off to force the device to reconnect to the network
  • Verify the APN settings match Proximus defaults: APN set to internet.proximus.be
  • Restart your device if signal bars show but data still doesn't load
No Signal or Weak Coverage Indoors

Building materials — concrete walls, underground floors — block radio signals significantly. Move closer to a window or step outside to confirm whether it's a location issue. If the problem appears in an area where you normally have coverage, restart your phone to re-register on the network.

SMS Messages Not Sending or Arriving

Check whether your message center number is correctly set. On Android this is found in the messaging app settings under advanced options. The standard Proximus SMSC number is +32475161616. Also confirm the recipient's number includes the correct country code if sending internationally.

Payments Failing in the App
  • Make sure your payment method is not expired and the billing address matches exactly
  • Try a different browser or switch from app to the web version
  • Disable any browser extensions that might interfere with the checkout process
  • If the payment page freezes, wait 10 minutes before retrying — duplicate charges can occur if you refresh mid-transaction
High Ping or Slow Home Internet

Run a speed test via a wired connection first. If wired speeds are fine but Wi-Fi is slow, the issue is local to your router. Restart the modem and router by unplugging them for 30 seconds. Check whether multiple devices are consuming bandwidth simultaneously. If wired results are also poor, contact support with your test results and the time of the test — intermittent congestion on the line requires a technician check.

Video Calls and Streaming Keep Buffering

Buffering on video is usually a bandwidth or latency issue rather than a platform failure. Reduce the stream quality temporarily to confirm. On a shared connection, pause other downloads or streaming sessions. If the problem only affects specific platforms, the issue may be on their end — verify by testing a second video service at the same time.
