mObywatel App Won't Open at All

A common cause is an outdated app version. Go to the store for your platform and check for pending updates. If the app is current but still crashes on launch, clear the cache through your phone's app settings, then restart the device. On Android, also check that background app activity isn't blocked by battery optimization.

Login Fails Despite Correct Credentials

If authentication keeps rejecting your details, start by confirming your date of birth and ID number are entered exactly as they appear on your physical document. The session token can also expire mid-flow — close the app completely, reopen it, and try again. If your account is linked to a specific phone number, make sure that SIM is active and inserted in the device.

Documents Not Displaying or Loading
  • Tap the refresh icon on the document card rather than closing the screen
  • Check available storage on your phone — less than 200 MB free can cause rendering failures
  • Switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi or the other way around to rule out a routing issue
  • If a specific document shows a permanent error, remove it from the app and re-add it through the document management section
Push Notifications Not Arriving

The app relies on push delivery for authentication codes and service updates. Verify that notifications are enabled both in system settings and within the app itself. On iOS, background app refresh must be on. If codes still don't arrive, check that your registered phone number hasn't changed in the government identity system.

Interface Freezes Mid-Process

When the screen locks up during document scanning or form submission, it's usually a memory issue. Close other running apps, then return to mObywatel. If the freeze happens repeatedly at the same step, uninstall and do a fresh install — corrupted local data is often the culprit.

Server Errors During Peak Hours

The service can return timeout errors when government infrastructure is under heavy load — typically weekday mornings. Wait a few minutes and retry. If the error persists across multiple hours, the issue is likely on the infrastructure side and not with your device or connection.

QR Code Scanner Not Working
  • Make sure the camera permission is granted to the app
  • Clean the camera lens — smudges cause consistent scan failures
  • Hold the device steady at around 20–30 cm from the code
  • If scanning fails in low light, move to a brighter spot or enable a flashlight if the option appears on screen
