Personal account login fails repeatedly

Most login issues stem from browser cache conflicts. Clear your browser's cookies and cached data specifically for the Vattenfall domain, then restart the browser completely. If you're using password autofill, type credentials manually—sometimes saved passwords contain extra spaces. Check that Caps Lock is off and your keyboard language matches the password characters. After three failed attempts, the system may temporarily lock your account for security reasons. Wait 30 minutes before trying again.

  • Verify your bank hasn't flagged the transaction as suspicious—check your banking app for pending authorization requests
  • Ensure sufficient funds and that your card supports online payments
  • Try a different payment method: direct debit instead of credit card, or vice versa
  • Disable browser extensions that block trackers or ads, as they interfere with payment gateways
  • Use a different browser entirely—Edge or Chrome instead of Firefox often resolves gateway timeouts
Mobile app crashes on startup

Uninstall the app completely, restart your phone, then download the latest version from your app store. Outdated app versions conflict with updated backend systems. If crashes persist, check your phone's available storage—the app needs at least 500MB free space to function properly. On Android, clear the app's cache through Settings > Apps > Vattenfall > Storage before reinstalling.

Meter readings won't submit through website

This happens when the submission form times out during high traffic periods, typically early mornings between 7-9 AM. Submit readings after 10 AM or late evening instead. Make sure you're entering numbers only without units or spaces. If the submit button stays grayed out, check that all required fields show green checkmarks. Try switching from mobile to desktop view—the mobile interface sometimes doesn't register input correctly.

Invoice downloads produce corrupted PDF files

Your PDF reader might be outdated. Update Adobe Reader or try opening invoices in your browser directly instead of downloading. Right-click the download link and select 'Save link as' rather than left-clicking. Some firewall settings corrupt downloads—temporarily disable firewall, download the invoice, then re-enable protection. Invoices generated within the last hour sometimes need processing time; wait 2-3 hours before downloading newly issued bills.
