Weather data doesn't load on the site

If forecasts freeze on the loading screen or display outdated information, your browser cache likely holds corrupted files. Clear browsing data for the last 24 hours, including cached images. Firefox users should also reset site permissions under Privacy settings. Try accessing the page in incognito mode first - if it works there, the issue is definitely cache-related.

App crashes when opening radar maps

This happens most often on Android devices with less than 2GB RAM. The animated radar layers consume significant memory, causing the app to close unexpectedly. Go to app settings and disable animation effects for precipitation maps. Lower the map quality to standard instead of HD. If crashes persist, reinstall the app - sometimes update files don't overwrite properly and create conflicts.

Location detection shows wrong city

• Check that location services are enabled in your phone settings, not just in the app itself
• Open your device's main Settings, find Location or Privacy, and verify WetterOnline has permission
• Restart your phone to refresh GPS coordinates
• Manually search for your city if automatic detection keeps failing
• Wi-Fi positioning can be inaccurate - try switching to mobile data temporarily

Widgets display no connection error

Home screen widgets pull data differently than the main app. They often fail after system updates or battery optimization changes. Remove the widget completely, restart your device, then add it again. Android users should exclude WetterOnline from battery-saving restrictions - find it under Battery settings and allow unrestricted background activity.

Search returns no results for valid locations

Type city names without special characters or umlauts if you're getting empty results. Instead of München, try Muenchen. The search database sometimes struggles with diacritics depending on your keyboard input method. Alternatively, use postal codes - they work more reliably than city names for German locations.
