If the De Lijn app freezes on launch or closes immediately, the most likely cause is an outdated version or a corrupted local cache. Go to your phone's app store and check for pending updates. If the app is current, clear its cache through your device settings — on Android this is under Apps, on iOS you'll need to offload and reinstall. After that, restart your phone before launching again.
This usually comes down to one of three things: a session cookie conflict in the browser, a temporary account lock after multiple failed attempts, or a password that was reset on one device but not synced. Try opening the site in a private browsing window first. If that works, clear cookies for the De Lijn domain in your main browser. If it still fails, use the password reset flow and wait a few minutes before trying again.
The search can stall if GPS permissions are partially granted or if the location data is stale. On mobile, fully close the app, toggle location services off and back on, then reopen it. On the website, allow location access when prompted by the browser. If you're entering a stop name manually, avoid abbreviations — type the full street name or town.
Slow loading on the website is often a local network issue rather than a server problem. Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice versa to isolate the cause. If both are slow, flush your DNS cache — on Windows run ipconfig /flushdns in the command prompt, on macOS use the equivalent terminal command. Also disable any browser extensions that intercept traffic, such as ad blockers or script managers, since these can interfere with the ticket booking flow.
Live departure times rely on a persistent data connection. If the times on screen stop refreshing, pull down to manually trigger a reload. If that doesn't help, check your signal strength — one or two bars is often not enough for stable real-time data. Moving to an area with better reception or connecting to Wi-Fi usually resolves it immediately.
