Payment gets declined at checkout

You reach the final step, confirm the purchase, and see an error instead of approval. First, check your payment method details in the app—expired cards or incorrect billing addresses cause instant rejections. Banks sometimes flag Klarna transactions as suspicious, so contact your card issuer to whitelist such payments. If you're using a debit card with insufficient funds for the authorization hold, switch to a different payment method. Clear the app cache or reinstall it—corrupted data can break the payment flow.

App crashes when opening purchase history

The app freezes or closes immediately after tapping on past orders. This happens when locally stored transaction data conflicts with server updates. Go to your phone settings, find Klarna in the apps list, and clear the cache without deleting data. If that doesn't help, log out completely, restart your device, then log back in. Make sure you're running the latest app version—older builds have known stability issues with purchase records.

Verification code never arrives
  • Check your SMS inbox and spam folder—codes sometimes get filtered incorrectly
  • Confirm the phone number in your account matches your current SIM card
  • Disable any third-party SMS blocking apps temporarily

You enter credentials correctly but land on an empty white screen. Your browser extensions might be interfering—disable ad blockers, privacy tools, and script blockers for the site. Outdated browser cache causes rendering problems, so press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (or Cmd+Shift+Delete on Mac), select cached images and files, then clear them. Try a different browser or incognito mode to isolate the issue. Some network firewalls block certain page elements, so test on mobile data instead of corporate or public Wi-Fi.

Can't complete identity verification

The system rejects your documents or photos during the ID check process. Use good lighting and place your document on a dark, plain background—reflections and patterns confuse the scanner. Make sure the entire card or passport fits within the frame without being cut off. If facial recognition fails, remove glasses, ensure your face is well-lit, and avoid backlighting from windows. Upload high-resolution images—blurry photos get automatically rejected.
