Online banking login fails repeatedly

When you can't access your account despite entering correct credentials, first clear your browser cache and cookies. OLB web interface stores session data that sometimes conflicts with new login attempts. Try using a different browser or incognito mode. If you're using the mobile app, uninstall and reinstall it completely. Check that your device time and date are set correctly—authentication often fails when system clock is off by more than a few minutes.

Payment transactions get stuck processing
  • Verify your account has sufficient funds and hasn't reached daily transfer limits
  • Check if the recipient's bank details are entered correctly, especially IBAN formatting
  • Wait 30 minutes before retrying—sometimes backend processing creates temporary holds
  • Switch from app to web version or vice versa
  • Contact your bank directly if the amount was debited but recipient didn't receive it
Mobile app crashes on startup

This typically happens after system updates. Force-stop the application through your device settings, clear app cache, then relaunch. For Android users, ensure you're not running battery optimization for the banking app—aggressive power saving kills background processes needed for secure connection. iPhone users should check if iOS restrictions are blocking the app. Reinstalling usually fixes corrupted local data.

Server connection timeout errors

When you see timeout messages, first test your internet connection with other websites. Banking platforms require stable connections—mobile data works better than weak WiFi. Restart your router if using home network. The issue might be temporary server maintenance, so try again in 15-20 minutes. Switch between mobile data and WiFi to isolate the problem. If only OLB times out while other sites work fine, their systems might be overloaded during peak hours.

Security certificate warnings appear

Never ignore certificate errors on banking sites. This could indicate a security issue. Make sure you're accessing the genuine olb.de domain, not a phishing copy. Update your operating system and browser to the latest version—outdated software can't recognize newer security certificates. Check your device isn't infected with malware modifying connections.
