If the WESTbahn app freezes on launch or shows a blank screen, start by force-closing it and clearing the cache in your phone's app settings. On Android, go to app info and tap clear cache. On iOS, offload the app and reinstall it. Make sure you're running the latest version — outdated builds often break after backend updates on the service's end.
A timeout on the main site usually points to a local network issue rather than the server being down. Try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data or the other way around. Flush your DNS cache by running ipconfig /flushdns on Windows or the equivalent on macOS. If the page loads partially, disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers, which sometimes block scripts the site depends on.
Card declines on the booking screen are rarely caused by the platform itself. Your bank may be blocking the transaction as a precaution for online travel purchases. Contact your bank to authorize the payment category, or try a different card. Also confirm the billing address entered matches exactly what your bank has on file — even a slight mismatch triggers rejections.
If the confirmation email hasn't shown up after a successful payment, check that the booking actually completed by logging into your account and reviewing your trips. If the order appears there, the email may be delayed or filtered. Add the sender domain to your safe senders list and allow a few minutes. If no booking appears, the session may have dropped mid-transaction — do not pay again before checking your bank statement for a charge.
When the journey search stops returning results or keeps spinning, a stale browser session is usually responsible. Hard-refresh the page with Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows or Cmd+Shift+R on macOS. If the issue persists on the app, toggle airplane mode on and off to reset the connection, then retry the search.
