Service info and troubleshooting

App Won't Open or Crashes Instantly

If the Bolt Food app freezes on launch or crashes right away, start with the basics: force-close the app and reopen it. If that doesn't help, clear the app cache in your phone settings (Storage > Clear Cache). On iOS, offload and reinstall the app. Make sure your OS is up to date — older Android or iOS versions often cause compatibility issues with newer app builds.

Orders Not Loading or Search Failing

When the restaurant list won't load or the search returns nothing, the issue is usually a weak internet connection. Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice versa to check. If both are slow, restart your router or toggle airplane mode on and off. The problem can also be server-side — wait a few minutes and try again.

Payment Fails at Checkout

A failed payment in the app usually comes down to one of a few things:

  • Your card details are saved incorrectly — remove the card and add it again
  • Your bank is blocking the transaction — check for a confirmation SMS or push notification from your bank
  • The card has expired or insufficient funds
  • Your bank requires 3D Secure confirmation, which didn't load properly — try again on a stable connection

If the issue persists, try a different payment method or contact your bank directly.

Login Errors and Account Access Issues

If you can't log in, first check that you're entering the correct phone number with the country code. The SMS verification code sometimes takes a minute to arrive — don't request a new one immediately. If the code never comes, check that your number can receive international SMS. Reinstalling the app often resolves stuck login screens.

Interface Frozen Mid-Order

A frozen screen while placing an order is often a sign of unstable connectivity. Don't tap repeatedly — this can submit the order multiple times. Instead, wait 10–15 seconds, then check your order history to see if it went through before trying again.

Promo Codes or Discounts Not Applying

If a promo code returns an error, double-check the expiry date and eligibility conditions. Some codes are limited to first orders or specific restaurants. If the code is valid and still fails, log out, log back in, and try applying it again — session glitches sometimes cause this.

Notifications and Order Updates Not Arriving

Missed order status updates usually mean push notifications are disabled. Go to your phone's notification settings and make sure Bolt Food has full permission to send alerts. Also check that Battery Saver or Do Not Disturb mode isn't blocking background activity.
