INPS Website Fails to Load

If the INPS portal won't open at all, start with the basics: clear your browser cache and cookies, then try a different browser entirely. Chrome, Firefox, and Edge handle the site differently, and a fresh session often resolves rendering issues. Check whether your DNS is causing delays by switching to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 in your network settings. If the page times out repeatedly, the server may be under heavy load — this happens frequently around pension payment dates and deadlines for submitting declarations.

Login Errors on Personal Account

Authentication failures on the INPS personal area are usually tied to SPID or CIE credentials rather than the site itself. Make sure your identity provider session hasn't expired — log out from your SPID provider completely and log back in before attempting access again. If you use CIE, ensure your card reader driver is up to date and the card itself hasn't expired. Temporary account locks can occur after multiple failed attempts; waiting 15–30 minutes before retrying typically clears them.

Mobile App Freezes or Won't Respond
  • Force-close the app and relaunch it rather than just switching away from it
  • Check that you're running the latest version from the official app store
  • Free up device storage — anything below 500 MB available tends to cause instability
  • If the app crashes on startup, reinstall it after clearing cached data in your device settings
Payment or Transfer Not Going Through

Online payment failures on INPS services often come down to mismatches between the billing data and what your bank has on file. Double-check that the fiscal code entered matches exactly. Some Italian banks block payments to government portals by default under their fraud prevention rules — call your bank and confirm the transaction category is permitted. If the error appears after you've already been redirected to your bank's page, the issue is on the bank's side, not the portal.

Document Upload Gets Stuck

Large PDF files stall frequently during upload, especially on slower connections. Compress your documents below 2 MB before submitting and avoid uploading during peak hours — mid-morning on weekdays tends to be the busiest window. If the progress bar freezes at a certain percentage, the session has likely timed out. Log back in and start the upload again without leaving the page open idle.

Slow Response and High Page Load Times
  • Switch to a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi if possible
  • Restart your router to clear any accumulated routing table issues
  • Disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers, which sometimes interfere with government portal scripts
  • Test your connection speed and confirm you're getting at least 5 Mbps before troubleshooting further on the site side
