App Won't Load or Freezes on Launch

If Trafi gets stuck on the splash screen or crashes immediately, start with the basics: force-close the app and reopen it. If that doesn't help, clear the app cache — on Android go to Settings → Apps → Trafi → Storage → Clear Cache. On iOS, offload and reinstall the app. Make sure your OS version is supported; outdated firmware often causes silent compatibility failures.

Real-Time Transport Data Isn't Updating

The live departures feed depends on a stable internet connection and functioning GPS. If bus or train times look frozen or wildly inaccurate, check whether your phone's location permissions are set to 'While Using the App' or 'Always' — restricted access breaks real-time positioning. Toggle airplane mode on and off to force a network refresh, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.

Search Returns No Results or Wrong Routes

This usually points to a location detection failure or a corrupted local cache. Try typing the destination manually instead of using the current location pin. If results are still missing:

  • Restart the app and retry the search
  • Check that GPS is enabled and the signal is strong
  • Update the app — outdated versions sometimes lose routing API compatibility
  • Try narrowing the search with a specific address rather than a landmark name
Login Errors in Personal Account

Failed sign-in is often a password mismatch or an expired session token. Use the 'Forgot password' flow to reset credentials. If the login button simply does nothing, clear cookies and cached data, then try again. Browser users should switch to a different browser or disable extensions that interfere with form submission.

Payment Fails at Checkout

When a ticket purchase or top-up doesn't go through, the issue is usually on the card or network side rather than the platform itself. First, confirm the card details are entered correctly — expiry date and CVV included. Some banks block transit-related transactions by default; contact your bank to whitelist the merchant. If the payment page times out, avoid clicking the button multiple times, as duplicate charge attempts can trigger fraud blocks.

Maps or Stop Icons Not Displaying

Blank map tiles or missing stop markers are typically caused by a poor connection or a graphics rendering glitch. Force-reload the map view by zooming in and out. If the problem persists:

  • Check your internet speed — map tiles need a consistent connection to load
  • Disable any battery-saver modes that throttle background data
  • Reinstall the app if tiles remain blank after reconnecting to a fast network
Notifications About Departures Not Arriving

If departure alerts stop coming, check that system-level notifications are enabled for the app in your phone settings. On Android, also verify that battery optimization isn't killing the background process. Re-enable push notifications inside the app's settings menu and save the changes.
