The most common culprit is EA's own infrastructure, but before blaming the servers, check your side. Restart your router, flush DNS (ipconfig /flushdns on Windows), and make sure your NAT type is Open — Strict or Moderate NAT kills matchmaking and causes constant disconnects. On consoles, set a static IP and forward ports 3659, 9988, and 17503.
If your ping spikes above 80ms mid-game, the issue is usually network congestion, not server distance. Connect via Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi, close background apps eating bandwidth, and check if your ISP throttles gaming traffic in the evenings. Switching DNS to 8.8.8.8 / 1.1.1.1 sometimes shaves off 15–20ms.
If a player card sale gets stuck or coins don't arrive after a transfer, don't panic and don't relist immediately. The transfer market has a processing delay of up to 10 minutes during peak hours. Check the 'Unassigned items' section — items often land there instead of your club. If a purchase shows as complete but the card is missing, restart the app before contacting support.
On PC, the EA App itself is often the problem, not the game. Update DirectX and Visual C++ redistributables, verify game files through the app, and disable overlays from Discord or GeForce Experience — they frequently conflict with FC 24's anti-cheat. On PS5 and Xbox Series, rebuild the console database and check for pending system updates.
If Ultimate Team ratings or squad data look outdated, force a manual refresh: go to settings inside the game and select 'Clear persistent data'. This re-downloads all live content without affecting your save.
