Game Won't Load Past Logo

If the app freezes on the loading screen, start with the basics: close it completely and reopen. If that doesn't help, clear the cache in your device settings under the app info section. On Android, go to Settings → Apps → Clash of Clans → Storage → Clear Cache. iOS users can try offloading and reinstalling the app without losing progress, since saves are tied to your Supercell ID or Google Play account.

Server Connection Errors

The 'Unable to Connect' message usually means either the game's servers are under maintenance or your network is the bottleneck. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to rule out one of them. If both fail, check whether the issue is on your end: restart your router, forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect, or switch to a different DNS like 8.8.8.8. Supercell runs scheduled maintenance windows — these typically last under an hour.

High Ping and Lag During Attacks

Spiking latency mid-attack is one of the most frustrating issues because it can ruin a three-star raid.

  • Move closer to your router or switch to a wired connection if you're playing on PC via emulator
  • Close background apps eating bandwidth — streaming or large downloads will tank your ping
  • Check if the lag is consistent or only happens at peak hours, which points to ISP congestion
  • Restarting the router before a serious session actually helps more than people expect
Login Fails or Supercell ID Issues

If you can't log in with your Supercell ID, first confirm the email and password are correct. The verification code email sometimes lands in spam — check there before requesting a new one. If the account is linked to Google Play or Game Center, try signing in through that route instead. Reinstalling the app fixes corrupted login tokens in most cases.

In-App Purchase Not Completing

When a gem pack purchase goes through but nothing arrives, wait five minutes before panicking. Tap the gem icon and look for a 'Restore Purchases' or contact support option. The transaction may have processed on the store side but not synced yet. If the charge appears on your bank statement and items still haven't arrived after 24 hours, contact Supercell support with your payment receipt.
