Reddit app crashes on launch

If the mobile app freezes or shuts down immediately after opening, start with the basics: force-close it, clear the cache in your phone's app settings, then reopen. If that doesn't help, uninstall and reinstall the app — this fixes most crash issues tied to corrupted local data.

Feed won't load or refresh

This usually points to a connection issue rather than a server problem. Check whether other sites open normally. If they do, try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Sometimes the app gets stuck on a stale session — logging out and back in resets it.

Can't log into your account

Double-check your username, not your email — Reddit uses usernames for login. If you're sure the credentials are correct but still getting an error, request a password reset. Also check whether third-party login (Google, Apple) is causing a conflict if you originally signed up through one of those.

Images and videos won't load

• Check your internet connection speed — video needs at least a stable 5 Mbps
• Go to Settings → Data Saving and disable it if it's on
• Clear the app cache
• If you're on Wi-Fi, try restarting your router

Comments or posts fail to submit

If your post or comment just spins and never goes through, the most likely cause is a weak or intermittent connection. Wait a few seconds before retrying — Reddit often registers the action even if the UI doesn't respond. Avoid tapping "Submit" multiple times, or you'll end up with duplicates.

Search returns no results

Try rephrasing your query using fewer or simpler keywords. Reddit's search is sensitive to exact phrasing. If the search bar itself is unresponsive, a full app restart usually brings it back.

Notifications aren't arriving

• On iOS, go to System Settings → Reddit and confirm notifications are allowed
• On Android, check battery optimization — it often blocks background processes
• Inside the app, go to Settings → Notifications and review which types are enabled
