If Notion gets stuck on the loading screen, start by force-quitting the app and relaunching it. On desktop, check whether the browser version works — sometimes the native app loses its connection token. Clear the app cache: on Windows go to %AppData%\Notion, on Mac use ~/Library/Application Support/Notion, delete the cache folder and restart.
Slow page loads usually come down to one of three things: a weak internet connection, a page overloaded with embedded content, or a workspace database that's grown too large. Test your connection speed first. If that's fine, try opening the same page in a browser tab — if it loads faster, the desktop client needs reinstalling. For heavy pages, break up large databases into filtered views instead of loading everything at once.
If the magic link email isn't arriving, check your spam folder and make sure you're entering the address tied to your workspace. Sometimes mail providers delay delivery by a few minutes — wait and retry. If you use Google or Apple sign-in, confirm that the correct account is selected in the browser session. Logging in through an incognito window helps rule out extension conflicts.
Changes made on mobile don't always appear on desktop right away. Pull down to refresh on mobile, and on desktop press Ctrl+Shift+R (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to force a full reload. If the gap persists, log out and back in — this re-establishes the sync session. Make sure background app refresh is enabled on iOS or Android.
The built-in search indexes content with a short delay after edits. If a recently created page isn't showing up, wait a couple of minutes and try again. For better results, use the full-text filter and specify the workspace. If search is consistently broken, clearing the desktop cache (same path as above) usually fixes it.
