After a patch, the launcher sometimes just stares at you with a blank screen or crashes before the game loads. First, try running the executable as administrator. If that doesn't help, go to the game folder and run the repair tool — it scans local files and replaces whatever got corrupted during the update. Clearing the launcher cache (found in settings) also fixes a surprising number of post-update issues.
If you're getting error codes like -1071 or a simple 'login failed' loop, the cause is usually one of these:
HoYoPlay routes traffic through specific regional servers, so if your ping spikes or you're getting disconnected mid-session, start by switching the in-game server region to the one geographically closest to you. On the network side, a wired connection beats Wi-Fi every time for stability. Also check whether your router's QoS settings are throttling game traffic — prioritizing UDP packets usually helps.
Failed top-ups are almost always one of three things: the bank blocking an overseas transaction, a temporary issue on the payment processor's end, or a mismatch between your account region and the payment method's currency. Try a different payment method first. If the charge appeared on your bank statement but crystals never arrived, wait up to 24 hours — the system reconciles delayed transactions automatically. Still missing? Submit a ticket with the transaction ID.
If a game refuses to start and throws a file integrity error, use the built-in 'Check Files' option in the launcher. It compares your local installation against the server manifest and re-downloads only the broken pieces, which is much faster than a full reinstall.
