Site won't load or freezes mid-search

If the page hangs or throws a blank screen, start with the basics: clear your browser cache and cookies, then reload. Expedia's search engine is heavy on scripts, so older browsers or too many open tabs can choke it. Try a different browser or switch to incognito mode — that alone fixes it in most cases. If the mobile app freezes, force-close it and relaunch; if that doesn't help, reinstall.

Payment won't go through at checkout

This is one of the most common complaints. The reasons vary:

  • Your bank flagged the transaction as suspicious — call them or approve it via your banking app
  • The card details were entered with a typo — double-check the expiration date and CVV
  • Your billing address doesn't match what's on file with your bank
  • The browser autofill pasted incorrect data into one of the fields

If none of that works, try a different card or use PayPal as an alternative payment method.

Confirmation email never arrived

Check your spam folder first — Expedia's emails occasionally land there. If the inbox is clean, log into your account and check the Trips section; the booking might be there even without an email. Add noreply@expedia.com to your contacts to prevent filtering issues going forward.

App crashes on search results

On Android or iOS, this usually points to an outdated app version or low device storage. Update the app through the store, free up at least a few hundred MB, and try again. If crashes persist on a specific route search, the issue may be on the server side — wait 15–20 minutes and retry.

Can't log in to your account

If the password reset email isn't arriving, check that you're using the correct email address — some users have multiple accounts from past bookings. Cookies or cached session data can also block login; clearing them resolves it in most cases. On mobile, logging out and back in through the app settings often does the trick.
