Revolut App Won't Open or Crashes

If the app freezes on launch or crashes immediately, start with the basics: force-close it, then reopen. If that doesn't help, clear the app cache on Android through the app settings in your phone's system menu. On iOS, offload and reinstall the app. Make sure you're running the latest version — outdated builds often break after backend updates on Revolut's side.

Login Fails or Code Never Arrives

The app relies on SMS or push notifications to verify identity. If the confirmation code doesn't arrive, check that your phone number is correct and your carrier isn't blocking shortcode messages. Weak signal is a common culprit — move to an area with better reception or switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi. If push notifications aren't coming through, check that notifications are enabled for the app in your phone's system settings.

Payment Gets Declined or Stuck
  • Check your available balance and any spending limits set inside the app
  • Confirm the card is not frozen — you can toggle this in the card management section
  • Verify the merchant category isn't blocked under your security preferences
  • If the payment shows as pending for more than a few minutes, do not retry immediately — duplicate attempts can result in double charges
Transfer Doesn't Reach the Recipient

For international transfers, double-check the IBAN and SWIFT/BIC codes character by character. A single wrong digit routes the payment to the wrong account or causes it to bounce. Also confirm the recipient's currency matches what you sent. Transfers to some regions go through intermediary banks and can take up to three business days, so a short delay isn't always an error.

Interface Freezes Mid-Session

A frozen screen mid-transaction is usually a connection issue rather than an app bug. Check your internet — run a quick speed test to rule out high latency or packet loss on your current network. Switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or vice versa, often resolves it instantly. If the interface stays frozen after reconnecting, restart the app and check whether the transaction was processed before retrying.

Account Access Locked Unexpectedly

Revolut's fraud detection can lock access after unusual activity — multiple failed login attempts, logging in from a new device, or a flagged transaction. In this case, in-app support chat is the fastest path to resolution. Have your registered email and phone number ready, and be prepared to verify your identity with a document photo if prompted.
