Site won't load or pages freeze

If the site hangs or throws a blank screen, start with the basics: clear browser cache and cookies, then reload. Chromium-based browsers sometimes conflict with outdated cached data from Booking.com — a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R) fixes it in seconds. If the problem persists, try a different browser or switch from desktop to the mobile app.

App crashes on search or booking

The Booking.com app tends to crash when the local storage is full or the app version is outdated. Go to your phone settings, clear the app cache (not data, unless you want to log in again), and check for updates in the App Store or Google Play. On Android, force-stopping the app before relaunching often helps.

Payment won't go through at checkout

A failed payment at the final step is usually one of these:

  • Your bank's 3D Secure prompt didn't load — check if a browser pop-up was blocked
  • The card has international transactions disabled — call your bank or toggle it in the banking app
  • Session timed out — go back to the search, re-select the property, and retry
  • Billing address mismatch — make sure the address in your account matches what's on file with the card issuer
Confirmation email never arrives

Check spam and promotions folders first. If nothing's there, log into your account — the booking shows up under 'My Trips' even without the email. The issue is usually a mail filter or a typo in the registered email address. You can resend the confirmation from the booking details page.

Login fails or account is locked

If the password is correct but login still fails, the session token might be corrupted. Log out fully, clear cookies, and try again. For a locked account, use the 'Forgot password' flow — Booking sends a reset link within a couple of minutes. If the email doesn't arrive, the account might be tied to a social login (Google or Facebook) rather than a password.

Search results don't update or filter breaks

This usually happens when the browser has cached an old version of the search page. A full cache clear resolves it. If filters reset on their own or dates don't stick, disable browser extensions one by one — ad blockers sometimes interfere with the booking interface scripts.
